TTOF: Write down your coupon breakdowns before shopping.

Tuesday Tip on Frugality– I will offer a tip in regards to coupons, and organization.

Tip#50: Write down your coupon breakdowns before shopping.

Every time I go shopping, I write down my transaction breakdown to avoid confusion at the register. I write down what coupons I am going to use, as well as the amount of products that I am going to buy. Sometimes coupons will not scan, and other times cashiers forget to scan them. If I know the total beforehand, I can easily spot the error if need be.

For instance, I am buying mechanical pencils at CVS this week. They are .59 cents! While that is a great price, I do not intend to pay that much! I have a.55 cents off Papermate Coupon. Here is my transaction:

Store: CVS

Buy 15 packs of Papermate mechanical pencils =$8.85

Use 15 (.55/1) Papermate mq=-$8.25

Pay: .60 cents

That’s it! Consider writing down all transactions, especially those involving coupons.
