Tuesday Tip on Frugality– I will offer a tip in regards to coupons, and organization
Tip#80: Use a filler item.
Ever since I started using coupons, I have noticed that stores will not give overage. In this case, you will need a filler item. Filler items are cheap items that are added to the transaction, in order to make the transaction successful.
For example, I want to purchase Suave Bodywash at ShopRite. The Suave bodywash is priced $1.50. My coupon is for $2 off. I grab a bag of chips that is worth .50 cents, and proceed to checkout. When the stores submit the coupon, they will get the full value of the coupon. Smooth transactions yield happy couponers!
Also, at Walgreens, the total number of coupons(Register Rewards & Manufacturer Coupons combined) must be equal. In such cases, filler items are appropriate. Consider using filler items to make your transactions successful.
